Flying into San Jose International Airport (SJO) is best, it is 140 miles or a 3.5-hour drive from SJO airport to Topanga Villa. You can also take a 20 min local flight to Quepos which brings you 45 miles from Topanga. Learn more about the transportation services we offer.
We are 3.5 miles to the closest beach, Playa Tortuga. There are many other beautiful beaches nearby as well, our favorite, Playa Ventanas is only 6 miles away.
Housekeeping is provided, except for Sundays. This includes a bedroom refresh, beds made, fresh towels if needed, kitchen and bathrooms cleaned. The pool is cleaned twice per week.
Costa Rica uses 110 volt, 60 cycle electricity, the same plugs as North America. US and Canadian travelers will not need a converter or adapter.
Ojochal is known as the culinary capital of Costa Rica. There are about 10 great restaurants within 3.5 miles of the villa (Citrus, Exotica, Los Gatos Locos, Castillo’s Kitchen, Aracari, Pancito, etc.) You can find some recommendations here.
The nearest hospital is 20 minutes away from Topanga, it is located in the town of Cortés. It is a large hospital that offers good health care services.
The water at Topanga Villa is completely safe for drinking from the tap. We also have filtered water from the fridge. Our water is tested regularly. There is no need to purchase plastic water bottles.
We can arrange to have the villa stocked with your preferred items upon arrival for a small fee.
Because the South Pacific is blessed with wonderful weather year-round, there isn’t a “best” time to visit. You can expect the weather to be hot and rain-free from late December until the end of April. From May until mid-August, you can expect more humid weather with a daily afternoon thunderstorm. October is the month with the highest precipitation and perhaps the month to avoid.
